Honey Roasted Peanuts with a Kick! - Bee My Honey
Growing up, I was never a fan of honey roasted peanuts. The sweet and salty combination has just never appealed to me. But these cayenne-spiced honey roasted peanuts are perfection. They comfortably ride that line between sweet and savory, kind of like a barbeque chip does, if you know what I mean. If you’re a peanut fan, I say definitely give them a go!
Hot Honey Roasted Peanuts
Ingredients
16 oz jar of dry roasted, unsalted peanuts
2 Tbsp cayenne pepper, divided
6 Tbsp sugar, divided
1/3 cup honey
1/2 tsp salt
Directions
Preheat your oven to 300° F.
Mix 1 Tbsp cayenne and 2 Tbsp sugar in a small jar or bowl. Set aside.
Pour peanuts into a large mixing bowl.
Microwave the honey for about 30 seconds to loosen. Mix in remaining cayenne (1 Tbsp), remaining sugar (4 Tbsp), and salt. Pour this mixture over the peanuts and stir to evenly coat the peanuts.
Spread the peanuts on a parchment-lined baking tray. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes. stirring every 5 minutes. They should turn even more golden and the hot sugary coating will get a little bubbly.
Remove peanuts from the oven and sprinkle with about half of the cayenne/sugar mixture made in step 2. Stir to coat, then let rest for a few (2-3) minutes. Sprinkle with the remaining cayenne/sugar mixture, then let cool completely.
